Remember, Remember…I fear November

I am watching Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, give a speech on his foreign policy; one that was mysteriously absent during the last sixteen months. His take on Israel (mainly the US’ protection of Israel) seems to be very Republican.  In fact, a lot of his foreign policy ideas are similar, leaving the only separation barrier at where and when to use them. Listening to him his ideas are inconsistent and random. As a Flavor Flav hype man he has proven talented, but never with the ability to translate that into the substance of a Chuck D.

I understand that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, but waxing poetically about how strong they are is picking a side. This is at the heart of why other countries in the Middle East hate us. That region has been fighting for 2,000 years. Their Holy Land has been lost and won numerous times. And now we come in and decide the final winner? How does that work? How is that not supposed to instill resentment and anger? It angers me and I have nothing to do with it. I think what frustrates me the most is that you have to weed through the rhetoric, translate the context, compare it to the track record and finally weight it against the pressures and influence of those around them. It is a tiring proposition. After all the research and discussion, for me, I allow my mind and instinct to lead me to my truth. I believe Hillary Clinton.

Obama won. There is no getting past that. It was a thought that Clinton could run as an independent – and win. I would not doubt that. Talk about history making. There is a large part in me that wants that to happen. Obama is getting more and more arrogant. He has perfected his profile chin raise; which makes you hate him as a person leave alone his politics.  Through the news of the last few days and the recent email I received saying that Clinton will endorse Obama Saturday, I am left feeling cynical. If Clinton is the Vice President I will fully back the ticket. If she is not then I will have to look, once again, very hard at the difference between McCain and Obama and between Republican and Democrat. This race went from being exciting to an over absorbing sense of disappointment and fear. Our country is so fucked up thanks to Bush we have to get it stable again. Currently I have no faith that these candidates can do that.

Ps: there still might be a damning video of michelle obama said to be caught in a racist rant.
